Easter is a time to celebrate! It is the first holiday of spring and refers to the reawakening of nature, putting the cold winter season far behind us.

For all those affected by the latest ice storm, I hope that your power and phone lines have finally been restored. As we have seen previously, ice storms can often result in power outages, transportation disruptions and property damage, leaving many people vulnerable and in need of assistance. By coming together as a community, we can ensure that everyone is safe and supported during this difficult time.
Checking in on your neighbours, especially those who are elderly, disabled or have young children, can make a big difference to their well-being. It can be as simple as bringing someone a cup of hot coffee, lending them an extension cord from their generator, or helping them clear fallen trees. It is important to remember that we are all in this together and that our collective efforts can make a big difference to the well-being of our community.
I am fortunate to have great neighbours who helped me cut down fallen trees and clear debris from my property to allow Hydro to restore power when our Hydro pole snapped in half.
I am grateful that the community came together to ensure everyone's safety and support during such a difficult time. It's moments like this that remind us of the importance of looking out for each other, and I am proud to be part of a community that truly cares.
